Slight update about Indonesia

1.First Electric Car Battery Factory in Southeast Asia.

Indonesia will have the first Southeast Asia's Electric Vehicle Battery Factory. Located in Karawang, West Java, the project has an investment value of US$ 1.1 billion or equivalent to Rp15.6 trillion, the construction will be finished in September 2022 and start to operate in 2023. This factory is an investment project between a consortium from South Korea, namely LG Energy Solution and Hyundai Motor Group and PT Industri Baterai Indonesia or Indonesia Battery Corporation (IBC). Our president, Mr. Jokowi Widodo said Indonesia which has 24% of the world's total nickel reserves, will become the main producer of nickel-based goods, adding that the factory will attract investment. Government fully supports the development of the battery and electric vehicle industry ecosystem and continues to roll out structural reforms to ensure ease in doing business.

Netmarks Indonesia's premium customers are automotive industries, and we provide standard solutions such as IT Infrastructure to them. Aside from that, we have received an opportunity from an automotive company to create Augmented Reality for their Electric vehicles.

The goal is to introduce how electric vehicles work and how the battery can provide power so the car can work, in an attractive way, using Augmented Reality. This is something that they cannot show by just looking at the physical vehicle.

We can copy the solution proposed to the automobile company to other customers in the automotive industry. We tried to give the real key to a real case.

2.COVID-19 Situation

Since the COVID-19 pandemic has hit the whole world, many things have affected all aspects of life, from business to technology. We have to adapt to new environments and habits. In Indonesia today, people have begun to adapt to new habits and started using technology as a way to help them work remotely. People may not be comfortable at first because they are rarely using technology as their worklife nowadays.
Universities, schools, even manufacturing & any other industries were affected by the covid-19 pandemic. Because in these industries we must/often see each other face to face, but as we know that is really dangerous because it can cause the spread of the virus. So nowadays in Indonesia, there's a lot of schools & universities are using online session and using Google classroom, zoom video conferences, and any other of web classroom/video conferences platforms as their new methods of learning & teaching.
In the manufacturing industry that requires to maintaining and monitoring machines, lot of company already switching to use technology such as Internet of Things or using remote collaboration devices such as RealWear to maintain their machines or workforces remotely, and many technologies that is already booming in Indonesia.

Then, what technology trends are currently prominent in Indonesia in 2022?

Here are 5 IT solutions that will be top solutions in Indonesia

1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning

Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning is a new technology trend known for its excellence in image and speech recognition, navigation apps, smartphone personal assistants, vehicle sharing apps, and more. AI is also widely used by various industrial sectors in today's technological era and it is very possible to create new industries ranging from programming, testing, support and maintenance.

2. Cloud Computing

Because of remote working, Cloud computing offers your business many benefits. It allows you to set up what is essentially a virtual office to give you the flexibility of connecting to your business anywhere, any time. With the growing number of web-enabled devices used in today's business environment (e.g. smartphones, tablets), access to your data is even easier.

3. Robotic Process Automation (RPA)

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) is a software technology that works automatically that can be used to interpret applications, process transactions, handle data, and even reply to emails. RPA is positively able to facilitate various jobs and analyze them quickly and accurately as well as create career opportunities for many IT professionals. On the other hand, the presence of RPA will have a lot of human work taken over by this machine.

4. Cybersecurity

In line with technology that continues to develop, of course, it requires cyber security to support it. It is not wrong if the trend of cyber security from time to time will continue to grow and become the front line in maintaining data security.

5. Internet of Things (IoT)

Internet of Things (IoT) is a concept where an object has the ability to transfer data over a network without requiring human-to-human or human-to-computer interaction. IoT has evolved from the convergence of wireless technologies, micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS), and the Internet.
"A Things" in the Internet of Things can be defined as a subject such as a person with an implanted heart monitor, a farm animal with a biochip transponder, a car that has built-in sensors to alert the driver when tire pressure is low. By far, IoT is most closely related to machine-to-machine (M2M) communications in manufacturing and electricity, oil, and gas. Products built with M2M communication capabilities are often referred to as intelligent or "smart" systems. For example, smart cables, smart meters, smart grid sensors.
